1970 Chuck Wagon Dog Food Commercial

1970 Chuck Wagon Commercial – Remember this one? I used to run to the TV as a kid to see this… I remember thinking this was really a minature chuck wagon with horses, and I wanted one of my own real bad.

As seen on Family Guy.
I’m starving!!
pee you kay eee
This is Marti deBergi’s commercial!
If you’re going to put down old commercials from the 70′s because you’re too young to know them, why did you look for them on here in the first place?
Looks good enough for even people to ear LOL.
Do they still make this stuff anymore???
That commercial actually made that stuff look appetizing
I loved this commercial! So cool, but I seem to remember that we gave our dog(s) Gaines Burgers (thanks for reminding me, V8TV). I believe it was cheaper and my dog wouldn’t eat anything else. BTW, to those who wonder about how long it is, they didn’t have the technology yet nor the demand for more ads that there are today. Laws were passed on the total amount of ad time the networks could air and I don’t think the time has increased over the years, so the commercials got shorter.
mmmmmmmmm, just like mother used too make!
I totally agree! Sure, on the rare occasions I watch Family Guy, I know many (not necessarily all) of the references, but that’s because I was born in 1969. I obviously remember this commercial, but it’s understandable that those born 10 years afterwards aren’t going to. Just as I’m not going to remember anything my parents had seen when they were kids. That’s just the way it is.
Dude, go troll somewhere else. Your forgetting people born in the late-80′s and 90′s (which did not “grow up” in the 80′s) are nearing their late teens and starting their 20′s now. This is 2009 and nearly the decade of 2010-2020. Even if it did run on TV though the 80′s, it helps your argument none. We didn’t see this commercial, it was before us.
I think it’s YOU who needs to get a life. I only posted ONE response to this classic ad (previous to this one) and it appears you wasted half your night with your negativisms, criticisms, and hatred responses (I’d hate to think of what you do with the rest of your life). It’s YOU who needs to get a life, dude (and we can do without the F word, too – Thank you).
Then maybe your’e too young to be watching Family Guy.
It aired all through the 80′s. Your’e why older people hate younger people.
How old are you dude, ten? You seriously did’nt remember this one? That’s the problem with Fam Guy & I guess that’s why they are going to taken off the air again. Too many of their jokes are for an older audience that just can’t handle watching cartoons anymore, even if the humor is slanted to “us” at times. “Us” meaning people that actually grew up in the 80s, not just born in them. But even then, and even though the creator is like 1 yr older than me he writes shit that is too old for us.
whatever happened to Chuckwagon dogfood? I remember the commercials, but I don’t see the stuff anymore.
My little sister used to eat this when she was three years old
SERIOUSLY!! You should have seen the shine on her hair!
You assume a bit much, I’m 19. >_>
The commercial is from 1970 (going off what the title says anyways), no way I would have just known it from TV. It certainly didn’t get any airtime in the late 90′s or 2000′s.
You must be 12…
Hell I’m not old I’m 22 and I knew what it was reference too.
I’m not gonna lie, my mouth watered a bit
Yes exactly..
I used to run to the tv well crawl to the tv I thought it was a toy and I wanted it!
Wow, they went into so much detail about the “tender meatiness” they almost made me hungry for it. Throw some carrots, taters and onion and you have a beef stew that is probably better than most school cafeterias. Ha ha.
Ohh, damn. I finally get it. This was referenced to in an old family guy episode but I never understood that clip until now. Good post.
great post. brought back fond memories of my german shepard.
we stopped feeding him chuckwagon because he would just wolf it down and later would lay large creamy “logs” all over the yard. it made for a really tough time cutting grass. we made the switch to gravytrain because it beefed-up his ‘logs’ and they would be dry in a day or so. made cleaning up after him so much easier. ahhhhh, the things you really hate as a kid but look back on and say that wasn’t so bad.
